The Challenge
The Challenge...
No buying clothes or shoes for the year of 2012. To prove that I have more than enough clothing options already hanging (or laying) in my closets. Yes, I made closets plural, and yes, they are both at maximum capacity.

Everyone has a New Year's resolution that they may or may not stick to. I live in excess when it comes to fashion. One time someone asked me if I ever wear the same thing twice. I totally do. But I also totally buy more clothes then I need. I "collect" cocktail dresses. Who does that? Maybe if I was married to an ambassador and went to fancy schmancy galas all the time, but I don't. I just like them. I have a million black dresses. I own enough pairs of jeans to last me a month. Do you get my point? I have enough. I need to start spending my money on other things and enjoy the beautiful clothes I already own instead of ignoring them after wearing them two or three times. So my New Year's resolution is more of a challenge. For one year I will not purchase any new clothes or shoes. This might sound easy to some people, but for someone like me it is far from that. Taking away my shopping is like taking away the vodka bottle from an alcoholic. I am challenging myself to become a better person. Some may find this challenge shallow in itself, but I know that I am not alone in my bad habits. For me, it's pretty clothes and shoes I over-indulge in, but others have their own bad habits to break. So if I can do this, then I believe that others can concur their own demons. I invite you to follow me on my journey. I am not sure what the outcome will bring, but I promise it should be interesting. Until my next post, happy shopping.
